Lurie Concepts will always hold a special place in our hearts here at Barn Light Australia. This Western Australia-based design firm was our very first customer and is also the first to provide a written testimonial as to our products and services.
Earlier this year, Lauren and her husband Michael, owners of Lurie Concepts, were deep into the process of developing their own 8.5 Energy Star home, a far cry from the mandatory minimum 6-Star homes required here in Victoria. One of the most important aspects of this process was choosing the lighting, not only because of the aesthetics but because lighting affects the thermal performance, ambiance, function, and style of a home.
“After searching in many stores both online and locally, we fell in love with the Barn Light Australia range and looked no further,” says Michael. “They have a huge range that can be utilized from a barn setting to an urban cafè to a residential home like our own. And with surface mounted lights rather than recessed, the thermal rating is not compromised.”
The couple chose a wide variety of fixtures for their new home including Benjamin™ stem mount pendants and Goodrich™ gooseneck lights, atomic cast guard sconces, barn wall sconces, and the vintage-inspired Ball Mason Jar pendant.
“We have not been disappointed with our choices,” Michael notes. “Buying online can be a risky option, not having seen the quality of workmanship before the purchase, but we can’t fault the fittings.” Michael’s testimonial adorns the wall at Barn Light Australia much like the common “first dollar” that businesses often frame and keep as a reminder of their first sale.
