I had an opportunity to meet Nathan from Storybook Designer Homes in mid 2013 along with a mutual acquaintance for a pub meal. As all of us got to know each other I came to realise that we both work in the construction industry. As we discussed business it became apparent that Nathan greatly preferred quality for his clients over convenience that comes with otherwise cheap materials. Nathan went on to explain how to get better returns on an investment by taking into consideration items such as building orientation, amount of accessible light, energy savings, and a whole lot more, and more specifically how they related to savings over the life of the building.
As a soon to be mortgagee myself, it was refreshing to speak to a designer without the expectation of having to sign a contract and accordingly I had learned more during that conversation than I had visiting design homes in the local area.
One important mention is Storybook’s refreshingly unique ‘Owner-Builder’ program that enables the common person to take advantage of skilled contacts, whether friends or family that can contribute toward the building. As you might imagine we’ve all got day jobs and it’s a definite plus to cut out the middle-man at times, which is what makes the program uniquely affordable.
With a strong emphasis on design, Storybook can provide the look and budget to exceed your expectations.
