Gooseneck & Stem Electrical Assemblies

Our 25mm & 20mm Electrical assemblies are used for both Gooseneck Barn Lights (25mm), Industrial Stem Pendants (25mm & 20mm), and some wall sconces.

PROCESS

Place the Hex Gasket Over the Hex Coupler Base. Seat the Small O-Ring into the centre cavity.

For 25mm use: Buna #117-N70
For 20mm use: Buna #113-N70

PROCESS

On a hard surface, seat the large O-Ring by placing the Hex Coupler on top of the O-Ring, pushing down and turning simultaneously.

PROCESS

Using the Hex Coupler – Rotate the coupler onto the base by turning anti-clockwise (Left-Hand Thread). 

DO NOT AFFIX ALL THE WAY.

The coupler should be tight enough to hold the o-ring in place whilst loose enough that the electrician will feel it tighten.

PROCESS

Using the Earth Terminal & Wire Strippers – Strip the Earth Terminal approximately 5mm.

Using the Ring Terminal & Wire Crimpers, Crimp the Earth Terminal.

PROCESS

Push the Terminal through the completed Hex Coupler Base.

Notice the unique positioning of the Earth Terminal – The red plastic crimp should not cover the threaded hole. This position ensures the Ceramic E27 lamp-holder fits flush against the Hex Coupler Base.

PROCESS

Strip 5mm of Wire from both Brown & Blue Wires.

Brown = Lead | Blue = Neutral

Twist & Roll the wire to reduce the length & Add body to the wire.

TECHNIQUE

The wire should be halved in length using a flat-head screwdriver. This adds body to the wire and ensures cables cannot be pulled out of the lampholder body.

L / “LEAD” = BROWN WIRE
N/ “NEUTRAL” = BLUE WIRE

Insert the wire into the lampholder, with the “excess” positioned against the screw. Close the screws until you can feel resistance. The excess wire takes the brunt of the force whilst the fold ensures the wire cannot come loose.

TECHNIQUE

The completed Hex Coupler Base & E27 Lampholder are now ready to be joined. Ensure the BROWN WIRE/TERMINAL is positioned away from the Earth Terminal as shown in the image.

ENSURE THE EARTH WIRE IS LOCATED WITHIN THE MIDDLE OF BOTH WIRES

In 1/2″ Sconce Assemblies the base has the Earth screw hole reversed.

TECHNIQUE

Push the E27 Lamp-holder Assembly onto the Coupler Base Assembly. 

First; affix the first 8-32×1/2″ Pan Phillips Screw into the threaded hole opposite the Earth Terminal. Fasten this screw approximately 80% of the way.

Second; repeat on the opposite hole. Close the screw down 100%.

Third; completely affix the first screw down 100%.

If you attempt to affix the screw closest to the Earth Terminal first – The lampholder will crack to a roll at the top of the lampholder.

PROCESS

Cut all wires to the same length.
Strip these wires either individually or simultaneously.

Use Wire Cutters or the Wire Crimper in the position shown if preferred.

Strip 5mm worth of wire.

PROCESS

Position the wires as shown into the terminal block.
Wires should always be inserted into a terminal block as followed. If for any reason we receive a warranty – this unique process will enable us to ascern if the product has been installed.

BROWN / GREEN&YELLOW / BLUE

Using a small flat head-screw driver, affix the screws into the wires individually.

PACKAGING

Wrap wires around your left-hand in a loop fashion. Using the last loop, thread the wire into the centre twice to ensure the wires keep shape.

Place the completed electrical assembly within the centre of the wire hole. This reduces possibility of breakage and wires being bent in transit.

PACKAGING

Insert electrical assembly within a plain white paper bag and affix required label.
