Alas, we need to keep improving upon our vintage, and as time goes on, things have to keep up with the times. That said, we’ve got replacements and much to his chagrin, we’ll be able to supply you with the same style should you need to finish off that reno in the near future.

From December 2023, we’ll start the process of phasing out the old 160mm Wall Backing Plate and retain the last batch of metal spinning for our existing customer base.

Three different mountings. A common benefit of buying from Barn Light.

1. Cottage Mounting
   • Higher arching arm.
   • Overall a lighter fixture by weight meaning kinder to your weatherboards or wall mounting. Ideal for indoors also.
   • Fits a standard 150mm Weatherboard without modifications.
2. Farmhouse
   • Shade fits below the mounting point (permitting larger shades)
   • Provides the ability to add IP55 “Caged” or Atomic accessory for additional outdoor proof lightings
   • with Atomic/Caged accessory, highly recommended for outdoors.
   • Like the Cottage, fits a 150mm Weatherboard without modifications.
3. Gooseneck Barn Lights
   • With PG12 Mounting Arm, comes to a similar projection.
   • Requires a strong mounting substrate such as hardwood boards or at least a reinforcement before installation.

Yes, these lights are indeed dimmable!

You can adjust their brightness to your preference to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion. Because we’re in 2023, yes you can use smart bulbs however you’ll need an electrician to advise based on the source of your WIFI signals.

We’re in the process of sourcing structural pine, a bandsaw, and the odd weekend creating weatherboard friendly, 140mm rounded mounting blocks cut at the exact angle that James Hardie Linea Weatherboards are supposed to be installed at. 

Where can I buy these Mounting Blocks?

Like the prior weatherboard option – We’re not willing to release these blocks until we’ve got them “just right” and reproduceable. If you’d like to consider these mounting blocks before the time we’re ready to release them, please send us a live chat to arrange.

We’re in the process of sourcing structural pine, a bandsaw, and the odd weekend creating Monoclad friendly, 140mm rounded mounting blocks cut with just enough material to fit flush within Monoclad Panels.

Monoclad – Does our Mounting Plate fit directly within the peaks?

No. It certainly looks like it however. The backing Plate being 140mm in diameter with the spun cover is roughly 145mm, given the positioning of the M4 nutserts within the mounting bracket, it won’t go on beautifully.

You’ve got a number of choices, keep in mind that unless you’ve got a competent chippy with tools on-site – You won’t get an electrician making these blocks up any cheaper. We’re not in the “sell you crap” business, so unless you are building and have a chippy around, find suitable mounting blocks are a hard sell. We don’t sell these for a profit, its simple a labour of love (of solutions!).

3. Create a small void to move it out 30mm from the bottom of the Monoclad peaks.

K Panel – Does our Mounting Plate fit directly within the peaks?

The K peaks are 12mm in height and frankly, you won’t need a Mounting Block unless you intend to mount directly upon a peak.
